DirectPoll is free, and stays free. Plus is a small set of optional extras you can buy when you happen to need them.
You will never be charged by clicking. A button opens a confirmation page that shows the price first, and you can leave from there. Nothing in DirectPoll takes your money without that step.

Buttons that cost money carry the mark at the end of their label, like Renew this poll . Everything without it is free. Nothing that is free today gets the mark tomorrow.
Clicking a marked button takes you to a confirmation page with the price on it. You decide there, and your card details go to our payment provider, never to us.
We are a Swiss company and our prices are set in CHF. You can pay in your own currency, and the tax due where you live is worked out at checkout, before you confirm anything.

A poll expires 30 days after its last save. Extending pushes that date out by a year, so a poll you need to keep open – a term-long course, a season of meetings – keeps running and keeps its results. You can extend the same poll again whenever you like; each extension adds another year to the date it already has. (Saving the poll will always ensure at least 30 days before it expires, even after you extend it.)

If a poll expires, its questions and results go with it. Renewing brings the whole poll back, results included, under its original cockpit link. Renewal is possible for about a year and a half after expiry, after which the poll is gone for good.

Support DirectPoll for a year, and every poll linked to your e-mail address runs at least as long as your supporter status does – instead of expiring 30 days after you last save it. You also get a DirectPoll Supporter badge, personalized with your name, to keep and to show wherever you like.
Already a supporter? Paying again adds a full year to the status you have.

Creating and running polls, as many as you like. Every question type, the live result screen, the custom themes, the PowerPoint slide decks and the add-in, restricted polls with voting tokens, the Excel export, and up to 500 voters connected at once. No account, no sign-up, no ads, and no e-mail you did not ask for. Plus never takes something away that was free; it only ever adds something that was not there before.
Payments are handled by Polar, which acts as the merchant of record: Polar takes the payment, issues the invoice, and is responsible for the sales taxes, whichever ones apply where you are – VAT in Europe, GST, US sales tax, consumption taxes elsewhere. Your card details never reach DirectPoll.
Your invoices, and every purchase made with your address, are in Polar’s customer portal. The FAQ explains how to get in and what that portal does – and does not – hold.
In Europe and most of the world, the price you see at checkout already includes that tax. In North America and India, tax is added there instead, which is the local convention. Either way, the checkout shows you the full amount and the tax before you confirm, and your receipt itemizes both.
You do not need an account for any of this, because DirectPoll does not have accounts. A purchase is tied to the e-mail address you enter at checkout, and that address is what lets us give you what you bought: a renewed or extended poll is reached from its own cockpit link, and a supporter status is recorded against the e-mail address, together with the date it runs to and the name you chose for your badge, if you chose one.
